I find it simply amazing that at 16 he had a mind deep enough to right songs like 'birth of a fish' and especially Oliver Hart before graduating... I've been struggling in even believing In myself to write music yet, because I feel I haven't lived enough of my life. Not to be 'different' but to be myself.
But after reading this interview, I realized that I will never be able to find 'myself' and that I'll always be growing. Each of the moments Eyedea put out music were the collective sum of himself at that time. from the 'egotistical rapper' to the 'philanthropic humanist'.
For the past two months I've really studied his music for the first time ever, having not ever payed to attention to E&A or Oliver Hart or Michael. So watching his evolution as a musician and a human over a short span of time and realizing the time span it actually took place in, really captivated me.
Thanks Eyedea, Oliver Hart, and Michael.
And thank you Roe Pressley for not butchering this interview. Allowing the whole world a chance, whether now or in the future, to see Eyedea, Oliver, and Michael as he is at this time and hopefully be able to witness his further growth in the future after his new material comes out.
